Jean is an artist living & working north of Glasgow, Scotland

The landscape near her home and around the Campsie Hills is her main inspiration. She is also influenced by the Hebridean Islands that she visits every summer, where her ancestors lived.

Most of her painting is rooted in observation, but abstract pieces draw on a wide variety of sources including memory, stories, poetry, historical research and textile patterns.

Landscapes are done mainly in oils; imaginative pieces are in acrylics or mixed media, incorporating collage. Her main influences come from the legacy of great Scottish painters, in particular Joan Eardley.

Jean’s work is owned by collectors across the UK and in the USA.
